This is where I’m supposed to write something about myself in third person like “Donnie is a very creative person and an appreciated speaker that is known for his enthusiasm and drive”. Well, all I can say is that I am considered to be a reasonably creative guy and so far most of the groups that have sat though my seminars have laughed in the right places and clapped at the end

But to write something more about myself, I’d say that I am passionate about everything that has to do with ideas, concepts and new ways of doing things we never thought could be done differently. I loved my eight years in the army (Royal Engineers) since every day was a creative challenge. To this day I still feel the army lacks comparison when it comes to expecting, demanding and rewarding personal and organizational creativity which in combination with the whole essence of leadership and group motivation made it a perfect place to start in my education in organizational innovation and motivation.

You see, it is my firm belief that both innovation and entrepreneurship is made up of ideas, courage and a lot of determination, and that’s why I talk about creativity, motivation and attitude when I hold my creativity seminars.

Anyway, when leaving the army I teamed up with my sister and we started our first own company, the game publisher Romelix Interactive. We had already started our family company Corrigenda AB together with our father back in 1986 so running our own business and trying new ventures came naturally to us. From there on we have been starting projects and companies and also done a lot of business and concept development work as well as teaching.  We have both been working with various entrepreneurship schools, competitions and organizations and we love helping people realize their ideas. And our own of course.

Today I work as Technology Transfer Manager at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, helping students, researchers and scientists realize their ideas and reseach. Really cool- I have also set out to create innovation systems for the whole world to use, so keep your eyes open the coming year or so for development in that area. 

As an extremely positive person I have decided to live my life by two rules:

1. Never get blasé, stay naive, believe that most people are good and get overjoyed when discovering new things!

2. If you enjoy being happy, do stuff that makes you happy, it will make you happy. Sounds stupid I know, but it works believe me, and it’s not half as stupid as all the miserable people you find running around doing things that make them even more miserable.

I want to inspire and empower people to open up, let go of their prejudices and dare to laugh, or at least smile, at themselves.

Only by overcoming our fears of failure and being wrong, can we become truly creative.
